My black winter wedges: Carvela Slip boots

After a month of researching and trying on and pondering I finally decided upon  what was going to be MY pair of black winter wedges for everyday use. These Carvela Slip wedges cost 130 pound, but I bought them in TopShop’s shoe department and got 10% off as I somehow still have a valid student card.

I actually headed for Oxford Street having finally decided to buy the practical Clark’s Yarra Desert boots but turns out they’re completely sold out. So I settled for these instead, they’re a bit less practical but soooo comfortable and no too high. Come in a grey suede version as well.

Wish List: A fling with Dune

I tried these Dune boots on today and I had to exert all the self-control in the world….and then a bit more….to pull them off my feet,  put them back on the shelf and walk out the store without them.

Jeg har stadig ikke fået købt et par flade, praktiske sandaler. Til gengæld har jeg set omkring 10 forskellige par fantastiske wedges, og mit hjerte banker særligt for dette par, som jeg så i vinduet hos Dune i går. Så fine og enkle og prisen på 65 pund er også fornuftig. Hmmm, nåede ikke at prøve dem, men det bliver jeg nok nødt til at tage forbi og gøre.

Og wedges er da også praktiske hverdagssko, er de ikke? Godt, det mente jeg også! 🙂 Fås også m. mørkeblå og khaki elastik.

English: I still haven’t found the perfect pair of flat, practical summer sandals. They’re all so freaking boring. What I have found while quickly browsing the highstreet stores are around 10 different pair of lovely wedges: from boots to sandals. I spotted these in the window at Dune yesterday and I just love them. Simple and classy and the price is also pretty good: 65 pounds. They come in dark blue and khaki too.

You could call wedges practical and use them everyday, couldn’t you? Exactly, that’s what I thought! 🙂 I haven’t tried them on yet, so I don’t know how comfortable they are. Guess I’m heading for Dune again….

Tokyo shopping – Jeffrey Campbell wedges

Mine absolutte favoritsko lige nu er de her sorte ruskinds wedge sandaler med guldnitter fra den amerikanske designer Jeffrey Campbell. Selv om de er tårnhøje, er de voldsomt behagelige. Faktisk så behagelige, at jeg helt glemte at jeg havde højhælede på under et halvberuset bar-besøg, og var lige ved at vælte. De kostede omkring 900 kroner i Tokyo, og hvis jeg kender Jeffrey Campbell ret, så kunne de være inspireret af en dyrere designsko fra et andet mærke. Det lever jeg heldigvis i lykkelig uvidenhed om.

In English: These are my absolute favourite shoes right now, at least when it comes to high heels. The studded suede wedges from American designer Jeffrey Campbell are so comfy. In fact so comfy, that I completely forgot that I was wearing high heels one evening at a bar and almost fell over. I payed around 100 pounds for them in Tokyo, and they might be Jeffrey Campbell‘s more affordable version of an expensive designer shoe, as J.C. is known to venture into copy-cat territory.

Gode gaver – Birthday presents

For nylig havde jeg fødselsdag, og pengegaven fra min mor besluttede jeg mig for at bruge på et nyt par plateausandaler. Sidste år gik jeg livet ud af et par sorte Aldo ruskindssandaler med plateauhæl, så det var på tide at finde version plateau 2.0. Jeg har længe været forelsket i Chloe Sevignys Opening Ceremony sandaler, men har ikke haft råd til at svinge visakortet. Som altid er der en del copycats i gang, så jeg fandt to billigere alternativer.

When my mum gave med some money for my Birthday recently I decided to spend most of them on a pair of new shoes/sandals. I love wedges as they are super comfortable, they make your legs look longer and thinner and you look taller. I love the edgy look of Chloe Sevigny’s sandals for Opening Ceremony but didn’t want to pay that much for a pair of shoes.

De første jeg prøvede var Aldos Daskal Wedge til 95 pund, men de var ikke specielt behagelige, så jeg gik i stedet i Topshop og endte med at købe Office’s Buckle Up Wedge til 75 pund. Jeg købte de sorte, men de fås også i elefantgrå. De er super behagelige, og jeg glæder mig til vejret vender, så jeg kan bruge dem uden strømper under.

Instead I found two cheaper alternatives and tried on Aldo’s Daskal Wedge (95 pounds) but they weren’t that comfortable. Then I headed for Topshop and ended up buying these Office Buckle Up Wedges (75 pounds). They come in grey as well and are super comfortable.

20 pund blev brugt på dette Moschino silketørklæde, som jeg fandt på en stand på Spitalfields Market i Østlondon. Det er totalt over-the-top 80’er kitsch med røde udsalgs-slogans og fræk mimen af andre mærker: “Christian Moscihnor”, “Moschinel”, “Hermos” osv.

I spent another 20 pounds on this Moschino silk scarf that I found at Spitalfields Market in East London. It’s totally over-the-top and reeks of eighties kitsch with the bold colours, the sale signs and the cheerful name playing with other brands: “Christian Moscihnor”, “Moschinel”, “Hermos” etc.

De 5 sidste pund brugte jeg på en cremefarvet Debenhams silke/uldtrøje fra en af mine absolutte yndlings-genbrugsbutikker, St. Johns Hospice, i St. Johns Wood.

The last 5 quid was spent on this off-white Debenhams silk/wool sweater from my favourite second hand store, St. Johns Hospice, in St. Johns Wood.

Og det var den gave…
