“Everything I’m wearing is my mum’s – I get “new” clothes from other people’s hand-me-downs….I can find anything I ever want in thrift shops.”
“Daryl has a compost loo, her cars run on leftover grease from fast-food restaurants and she lives ‘off the grid’, with her own sources of water and power.” (Daryl Hannah in The Daily Mail)
Meget inspirerende.
Læs interviewet i The Daily Mail.
In today’s society we’re obsessed with material possessions. The fashion industry and its ever-changing trends make sure that no matter how much money we spend, we never feel on top of the latest “it” items and must-haves. And Hollywood and the media are obsessed with youth, weight loss and wrinkle-free faces.
Therefore I find it so inspiring when Hollywood’s so-called role models such as actors dare to be different. One of them is Daryl Hannah and I recently read an interview with her in The Daily Mail (yes, I know it’s one of my guilty pleasures) about how she lives on a secluded eco-farm far away from Hollywood’s glitter, fights for the environment, never buys new clothes and denies having had plastic-surgery (I really hope she is honest about that).
She probably doesn’t get offered as many movie roles because of all this (well, she’s a woman over 40 so that already rules her out) but I’m sure she sleeps well at night.
Very inspiring.
